100% Nebbiolo grape. Founded in 1901 by Don Leoncio Arizu. It is the oldest family-owned winery in Argentina. Their vineyards are farmed from the famed Luján de Cuyo appellation of Mendoza Valley. The vineyards sit at 780-1150 meters above sea level next to the Andes Mountains where they receive pure melt water for irrigation. This Malbec is produced from vineyards averaging 50 years of age. This wine has intense violet color with aromas of cherry and ripe plum. It is very big and forward with spiced mocha, mountain blackberries, and black cherry dancing on the mid palate, and rich and finely textured with unctuously fruity flavors. The wine is firm with a graceful and long, lengthy finish ending with a hint of bittersweet chocolate; very well made.
